Brazilian Butt Lift
(BBL)

What Is A Brazilian Butt Lift?

A Brazilian butt lift (BBL) is a body-contouring procedure that enhances the shape and projection of the buttocks using your own fat. It combines liposuction to gently remove unwanted fat from areas such as the abdomen, waist, flanks, or back, with careful fat transfer to the buttocks to create a fuller, more lifted, and more sculpted contour. Because it uses your natural tissue, a BBL can provide a soft, natural look while also improving surrounding body definition. The procedure is highly technique-dependent and requires a meticulous approach for safety, proportion, and long-term results.

What Are the Benefits of a BBL?

A BBL can refine the entire silhouette by improving both the buttocks and the areas where fat is removed. Benefits may include:

  • Enhanced buttock shape, projection, and overall contour

  • Improved waist-to-hip balance for a more sculpted profile

  • Dual benefit of targeted fat reduction with liposuction and strategic enhancement with fat transfer

  • Natural-looking results using your own tissue

  • Long-lasting contour improvement when weight is stable and postoperative instructions are followed

The goal is not an exaggerated look, but a well-balanced, athletic-to-elegant contour that complements your frame.

Who Are Candidates for a BBL?

You may be a good candidate for a BBL if you want a more shapely buttock contour and have enough donor fat for transfer. Ideal candidates often:

  • Are in good overall health and at a stable weight

  • Have areas of unwanted fat that can be safely harvested with liposuction

  • Want a natural enhancement using their own fat rather than implants

  • Understand that some transferred fat does not survive and that results depend on technique and aftercare

  • Are able to follow postoperative positioning restrictions to protect the fat graft (including avoiding prolonged sitting early in recovery)

If you are very lean with minimal donor fat, or if your primary concern is significant skin laxity, other options may be more appropriate. During your consultation, Dr. Cheng will evaluate your anatomy, goals, and donor fat availability to recommend the safest approach and the most refined, natural outcome.
